Clothes shopping online has so many advantages to its real life equivalent. It’s often cheaper, faster and no one seems to mind if you do it whilst wearing a pair of cow print pyjamas.
Unfortunately, online shopping tends to lead to some of us *cough* taking on a slightly skewed view of their actual body shape, leading to a wardrobe of clothes that just don’t fit properly.
New website Joy of Clothes hopes to resolve this issue. The site allows customers to browse clothing by body shape. So, by clicking on the ‘Apple’ section, it gives you a huge range of dresses, tops, trousers and accessories that are designed to best suit those of us with a bit of a tummy. You can choose from seven different shapes, so everyone is catered for.
There’s also a useful section for choosing clothes that suit your skin tone, which you can identify with their quick quiz.
The Style Advice section is stuffed full of help and tips on everything from finding the right jeans to working out your proportions. You can check out the blog for updated style news, suggestions, and trends.
The project is the brainchild of stylist Michaela Jedinak and former Confetti.co.uk CEO David Lethbridge. They’ve got some big brands on board including Dorothy Perkins, French Connection and Boden.
You can follow Joy of Shopping’s stylist Michaela on Twitter, and become a fan on Facebook too.

I checked out the Joy of Clothes after your recommendation but have to say that it it is incredibly cluttered and whilst it seems like a great idea it is not delivered that well! I just got bored of where to look next and clicked off. Could be great but needs lots more work I think.
